about

Raf Ketelslagers

A defender of purity. Of real images as a resting point in a world of fleeting messages and likes. Of simplicity and grandeur in details. With this vision and sense of creativity, photographer Raf Ketelslagers has been working for 16 years now.

For 3 years he took his 35 mm analog camera in hand to instinctively capture small moments in mostly abstract images with visible grain. Impressive, thanks to the simplicity and at the same time richness of nature and the environment. Fascinating, because of the movement, the vibrancy and the smooth lines.A first exhibition of this analog work took place in the fall of 2018 in a Hasselt gallery (Belgium). SLOW represents an escape from busy life, a plea for beauty in lines, gradations and colors. These images – each in a different size – are for sale in limited quantities. And there’s more: Raf Ketelslagers also offers an Artist Print of each work. That is an edition in which the original negative is incorporated in the back of the frame.
